Megalon

In the underwater kingdom of Seatopia live a race of human beings who wish vengeance on the land living humans. So the Seatopians send their guardian to destroy the land livers. The guardians name is Megalon. This beetle-like monster had to fight Godzilla to destroy the city of Tokyo. When Megalon was defeated, it fled for it's life and returned to its underwater lair. A team of specialists was sent to retrieve the monster a put it on Monster Island.

Though strongly resembling a gargantuan beetle, Megalon is different from a normal insect because it only has four limbs instead of six. But it does have two pairs of wings-an outer, colorful protective pair, and beneath, a more utilitarian pair for flight.

Megalon surely has the most interesting hands of all the monsters. Each one is in the shape of half of a drill and when brought together they form a spinning drill able to burrow under the Earths surface at an incredible speed.

As a guardian of the undersea kingdom of Seatopia, Megalon was sent to the surface to punish mankind for the testing of nuclear weapons, which had devastated the sunken city. Guided by the cyborg Jet-Jaguar, Megalon defeated Japan's self-defense force and laid waste to Tokyo before Godzilla could interfere.

Both solo against Jet-Jaguar and teamed with Gigan against Jet-Jaguar and Godzilla, Megalon proved to be tenacious and talented fighter, buzzing over cities, blasting buildings with lightning bolts from its power horn, and spitting napalm bombs from its mandible jaws.

All these handy weapons proved a formidable offensive force for Megalon. Ultimately, however, after its had fled and victory against Godzilla was clearly out of its reach, this one-time foe of Godzilla's beat a hasty retreat back to its undersea lair.
