Anguirus
(a.k.a. Angilas)
During a certain period of
time when the dinosaurs ruled over the Earth, one of these
dinosaurs was called Annkylosaurus. This peaceful plant-eater
lived among many other dinosaurs, some peaceful, some not. This
prehistoric beast became extinct along with many others. But one
survived. Mutated and transformed by radiation, this dinosaur
became larger and heavier, it also gained a new name, Anguirus.

Anguirus's Story
Anguirus is a creature that started as an
enemy of Godzilla but then became an ally. Anguirus was
identified as a prehistoric beast who has been revived by
radiation, as a cousin of the Ankylosaurus but after being
transformed by radiation has become much more larger and powerful
than his extinct relative.
A spiked shell-like covering protects
Anguirus's back and a line up of horns on the monster's head
protects his neck. This revived prehistoric beast has no real
offensive weapons as Godzilla does. He often relies on his
fantastic fighting spirit to get him through the tough battles.
In Godzilla Raids Again, Anguirus
fought Godzilla but was apparently killed. But after that,
Anguirus was show often fighting along side Godzilla, or just
there to enjoy the show. Some of the monsters that Anguirus
helped Godzilla defeat are King Ghidorah, MechaGodzilla, and the
cyborg Gigan. In fact, Anguirus became Godzilla's most loyal
ally.
Because Anguirus is only monster that looks
like his extinct relative, and his never-say-die attitude, that
allows Anguirus to retain a powerful following among many fans.
Like I said in the fist paragraph, having no projectile like
radioactive fire or any energy rays, Anguirus depends on his
claws and teeth, but mostly on his fierce fighting spirit. One
his most powerful weapon is his most destructive to the bad guys,
Anguirus is able to throw himself backward, revealing his spikes
on his back.
